Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) presents Marisol and Warhol Take New York, an exhibition featuring iconic artworks and ephemera by artists Marisol Escobar and Andy Warhol, opening on April 15, 2022. The exhibition not only offers a glimpse into Marisol and Warhol’s close bond as friends and artistic collaborators, but chronicles the development of both artists' careers over an eight-year span from 1960–1968, while highlighting their influence on each other, their parallel rises to success, and their savvy navigation of the highly competitive 1960’s gallery world.

El Museo del Barrio presents Raphael Montañez Ortiz: A Contextual Retrospective, from April 14^th to September 11^th, 2022, the first large-scale exhibition dedicated to the artist, activist, educator and founder of El Museo del Barrio, since 1988. Curated by El Museo’s chief curator, Rodrigo Moura, and guest curator Julieta González, the exhibition spans several decades of his production, from the 1950s to the early 2020s, in different media such as film, painting, photography, video installations, documents, and assemblages. This is the largest exhibition-to-date dedicated to the artist.

The National Gallery of Art announced Maria Bonta de la Pezuela as new Deputy Director of Development, within the division of External Affairs and Audience Engagement. Maria brings deep expertise in Latin American and Contemporary Art as well as strong professional relationships throughout the Americas to the position.

The Meadows Museum, SMU, presents an exhibition by the Spanish conceptual artist Ignasi Aballí (b. 1958), ahead of his solo presentation at the Spanish Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale.

The Art Museum of the Americas presents Geandy Pavón: Quarantine: 40 Days and 40 Nights, a timely and imaginative photographic exploration of life under quarantine. Initially presented as an online exhibition during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, this long-awaited exhibition is now open for visitors in person at the museum.

This exhibition, curated by Vanessa K. Davidson, Ph.D. and co-organized by the Phoenix Art Museum and the Blanton Museum of Art, is the first retrospective of Colombian artist Oscar Muñoz's work in the United States

The exhibition with selected works from the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation Collection (CIFO) reflects on both the multidisciplinary practices of Latin American contemporary art and on its diversity as a conceptual frame that is inclusive of a carried universe of voices. It comprises 31 established, mid-career, and emerging artists from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela, and features works of art in multiple media, including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, video, as well as large-scale multimedia installations. Having debuted at the Cuenca Biennial in 2018, this is the first time this exhibition is presented at an arts institution in the United States.

This is the first mid-career survey of Colombian artist Oscar Muñoz’s work in the United States. Although he has had large-scale retrospectives throughout Europe and Latin America, this exhibition will introduce U.S. audiences to a broad scope of his evolving practice.

Olga de Amaral has pioneered her own visual language within the fiber arts movement. Her radical experimentation with color, form, material, composition, and space transforms weaving from a flat design element into an architectural component that defies the confines of any genre or medium.

Organized in celebration of the Rose’s 60th anniversary, the exhibition re: collections, Six Decades at the Rose Art Museum highlights the Rose’s radical roots while showcasing the potential for future transformations. Following the example of artists featured in the exhibition, re: collections challenges art historical conventions and cultural hierarchies by charting alternative genealogies that link artworks drawn from the museum’s stellar permanent collection.

The artworks draw on visual, cultural, and mythological cues informed by feminism, decolonialism and the artist’s personal and familial histories, while simultaneously engaging with the biodiversity, geology, and dark skies of Far West Texas. The sky was particularly striking for Huanca–animated with cosmic and extraterrestrial forces while also revealing the natural rhythms of the sun and moon. ESPEJO QUEMADA is curated by Daisy Nam, Ballroom Marfa curator.

The fair, which includes 194 exhibitors from 38 countries, will take place from September 9-12, 2021 at the Javits Center, The Armory Show’s new, permanent venue.
